La Casa de Felipe is situated in Taganga. It is a typical fishing village about 15 minutes away from Santa-Marta, and it is located on the quieter side of town, about 10 minutes walk from away the beach. It is an ideal place to relax, with gardens, bar and restaurant, overlooking the sea in the distance. Taganga is also a good starting point for trips to Ciudad Perdida, La Guajira and Tayrona National Park.
Absolutely recommended! The simple [poi = 125135] Santa Marta [/ poi] guest house is known for its great prices (single room with private bathroom: $22,000, more or less 10€), friendly staff, safety, cleanliness and excellent location. It has wi-fi and laundry perfect for a wash after returning to the remote wilderness in [poi = 124025] La Guajira Peninsula [/ poi] or [poi = 12123] Tayrona National Park [/ poi ].
A charming place. Very carefully designed and tremendously enjoyable. It is a small colonial style house remodeled to house small rooms,one each being decorated different. An arched entrance that overlooks a small courtyard with a small pool and a hammock, ideal for relaxing after a day of walking or reading a book before starting the day.
These lovely cottages on the [poi = 126245] Beach Reef [/ poi] are a real luxury, especially considering how rugged the surrounding countryside is. There are 6 cottages for up to four people. They are wonderfully set-up with simple but exquisite details. The cottages are scattered among the palm trees surrounding the beach and near a very tasty restaurant.
El Cabo San Juan del Guia has a camping area situated on a spectacular corner. Surrounded by palm trees and framed by the lush hills of Tayrona, the campsite overlooks the beach, one of the most precious of the Park. The site is a popular, and the favorite of backpackers. The atmosphere is festive, ideal for young people. The campsite also has a simple restaurant with two hammocks, one of which is espectacualr, as it is located at the highest place on the sea.
This hostal is one of the best options for "luxury" backpackers, as the bayview offers a swimming pool and free wifi. In addition, breakfast is included at 6 euros per person. The owner is very friendly, always willing to give information on destinations. It has several daily direct transfers to Cartagena de Indias.
Competition among agencies for hikes to the Lost City has made prices (and quality) drop. Turcol is the most experienced tour agency that goes to the Lost City, and has the best equipment and guides. The guides have a good relationship with indigenous communities, so even if it's a few dollars more, it's worth it to be in the hands of professionals

There are also various kinds of accommodation: apartments, cottages, hotels, campsites, hammocks, eco-tourism places. You can find everything from 5-star resorts to hostels with shared rooms, it all depends on your budget and how you want enjoy your stay. Take advice before traveling.
Set in the bay of [poi = 126229] Taganga [/ poi], the Blue Whale Hotel is one of the most stylish and best equipped hotels to be found in this fishing village. There is a beautiful courtyard where most of the rooms are, intimate lounges in hidden corners, with a terrace from which the views of the bay are beautiful, and great sun loungers located on the beach. The Blue Whale is a mini haven where you can enjoy the very personal atmosphere of the charming Taganga.
If you like peace and quiet, the [poi = 126245] Reef beach [/ poi] is one of the best campsites in[poi = 12123] Tayrona [/ poi], especially during the low season. The camping area is right on the beach between some palm groves. The site has 4 toilets and showers for men and 4 for women. Reef beach also has around 60 hammocks. You can bring your own or rent one once you arrive.
The Tayrona National Park has several hammocks. The beach campsite Reef has a 60 hammocks, the beautiful Cabo San Juan del Guia has two. The smallest is next to the camping site, the other, the most requested, is placed in a hostel situated in the highest point. The sunbeds can not be reserved. But in low season and with luck, you might get some sleep in the best corner of paradise.
It is beautiful to watch the sunset by the beach while having a cocktail with your family. When you visit sights like Quinta de San Pedro Alexandria, The Beach Center, The Aquarium, Playa Blanca, Taganga, Rodadero, you'll definitely leave with the desire to do it again. The weather was excellent and the people are very helpful. A place to return to!

Situated just 2 minutes away from the beach in the main part of town, this is one of the best hotels in Taganga, with good service and prices, which go up during high season, and other times of year such as like Easter.
A very good place to stay for a few nights while you discover Macondo in the heart of Aracataca. The Gypsy Residence has clean and spacious rooms and the owners are very friendly people and they know a lot about the history of the town and its most famous son, Gabriel Garcia Marquez. The village is very interesting and the people are very friendly.
