Max-Kade is a university residence located in Stadtmitte (city center of Stuttgart). Every Wednesday, the students convert the attic, on the 15th floor, into a disco bar. The terrace runs along much of the building offering an excellent view of the city. The party is designed by and for students so you will find yourself with a very young crowd and enjoying very cheap prices. There is a great variety of cocktails including the Screwdriver, Mojito, Pina Colada, Tequila Sunrise and Cubalibre classic. Each cocktail costs about 3 euros. You will also find non-alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. Of course, no visit to Germany is complete without beer. It is served in a separate bar and, like the cocktails, there is a variety to choose from. A 33cl bottle costs 1.5 euros. The only drawback is that you have to be on an approved guest list to visit Max-Kade. Each resident can invite an unlimited number of people. However, if you are not in a very large group and arrive early, they often let you in.
Pfaffenhof I is a student residence on the campus of Vaihingen, 3 minutes from the S-bahn Universität. The buildings are of the 70s, and have received an architectural award for its distribution. Pfaffen has white towers, most made up of 5 floors. Residents have their own room with sink and share a kitchen and bathroom. Each floor has a kitchen) and one bathroom for girls and one for boys. The kitchen is shared with 12 people and bathrooms on the number of girls and boys that are in the ground where you are. Each building has a terrace with a table and benches for warmer days. I was living in this residence for 2 years and I was very happy. It is also true that it depends on the neighbors. Especially with regard to cleaning problems. My kitchen was always clean. And even though it was for many people, as most are from different countries had different schedules and no space problems. To avoid trouble when sharing a fridge, they were divided into individual boxes, locked. Each had a key to the fridge and one for a kitchen cabinet. The monthly rent costs about 240 euros. You need to be a student to live here and can be a maximum of three months.
Allmandring I is one of the student dorms on the Vaihingen campus, Universität. The dorms in Germany are different from Spanish dorms. Each student has their own room and the kitchen and mixed gender bathrooms are shared, with about 10 people. Every half floor has showers and the other half has toilets. The rooms are large. Each has a big study table, chair, bedside table, bookcase, sink and a "hall closet". In addition, each block has a huge terrace, great for barbecues and parties with many people. Many of my friends lived in Allmandring. At first, I heard bad things about the residence, but is an alright place to live for a while. Although they have hired cleaning staff for two days a week, the state of the public areas is highly dependent on your floor mates. In Allmandring I, there are mostly Chinese, Polish, Italian and Spanish students. The worst thing is to organize cleaning duties, garbage disposal, and refrigerator space. The monthly rent is about 230 euros. You need to be a student and you can only live there for 3 years at the most.
Budget hotel that is very convenient! Achat Hotel Stuttgart is a bit outside of the city, near the Porsche factory, which isn´t in the city, but well connected to the city by highway. To better locate it, you must indicate which is in the northern part of the city known as: Zuffenhausen. It has 104 rooms. Our room had a full bathroom with hairdryer and shower, and the the toothpaste was very small. There was also: heating, tv and phone. The advantage of this hotel is that there is plenty of off road parking totally free. In our case the room cost us 60.00 euros, having included breakfast which was served in a breakfast room, with buffet.
We went to San Juan bridge on June 23rd of last year so that we'd be there at the same time the World Cup was going on. All of the bars, pubs and restaurants had installed giant screen TV's for people to watch the games on to bring in business. It was essential if you think about it. In front of the hotel was its outdoor terrace, which was a perfect place to take a German lager, national size. Next door is a organic supermarket and several pubs near pleasant. The hotel is modern, maintained and rooms, beds and bathrooms are very spacious and comfortable. In addition, we were fortunate to be on the 9th floor overlooking the mountains of Heilderberg and full moon. It is 5 minutes from the historic center (Marktplatz, hotel "Zum Ritter St. Georg", Karlsplatz) and Hauptstrasse, the main shopping street which is pedestrianized. Crossing the Charles Bridge Teodoro will reach a public green area on the banks of the river, highly recommended for picnics. To reach the hotel is very simple because you only have to walk 5 minutes behind the bus station which drops you at Frankfurt Airport Shuttle.
We began to think that it was not a conventional hotel. When we arrived we could not find where we were staying and we were expecting a room for 4 people even less. After seeing it we felt it would be an adventure. When we entered the reception was quirky, and as we went up to see the room we realised it was going to be different. Inside the room was we had two bedrooms and a bathroom for the two couples. There were no luxuries but we had a great time. The price was moderate and included breakfast, indeed it was extraordinary. This is on Plaza del Mercado, a beautiful outstanding location. Highly recommended.

On the banks of Lake Titisee in the Black Forest, and without any reservation , we went to stay at the home of Barbara and Jürgen Wiesler. The translation of guest house Gästehaus is a rural hotel or guest farms. It is a recommended place in the Black Forest, from there you can get to all the attractions of the area, numerous trekking routes for hikers or water activities on the lake. Barbara welcomes you with the best smile and offers a very spacious and comfortable room with a bathroom of equal proportions for 60 euros a night. The breakfast is also included, very complete buffet, served in a large room in the house overlooking something, like all rooms. Although the area is very touristy, the house is very cozy and quiet, it shows that the owners are very experienced and the deal is unbeatable. Complimentary with a card that lets you call KONUS for free is a bus trip throughout the area and it gives you discounts at some of the places. It is a very good initiative to promote tourism, later we found out that is very common in the region.
This hotel is located on the outskirts of the city of Stuttgart, about a 15 minute drive from downtown. The location isn't the best, but it's still a good option - it's quiet, with a filling breakfast, and the rooms are clean and tidy. We had a comfortable room for 3 people, although the double rooms are a little small, and the bathrooms are a touch outdated. The price is good, too.
We chose these apartments as a base for our trip to the Black Forest and was a success. They are well located, comfortable, practical, fully equipped and with private garage. We were amazed because they seem to be apartments where someone lives, not the typical apartments you normally get which are cold and impersonal. They are warm and welcoming. You have access to an indoor pool, sauna, and a wi-fi space in the rooms. We stayed almost a week. I loved this place, its location. It is surrounded by stunning views, on the terrace and all the amenities are offered. The manager gave us all kinds of information on places to visit, maps, train schedules, etc. Please note, this region has a daily rate charge for the rooms, do not be surprised! Yes, they give you a card and you can enjoy free travel on public transport and discounts at museums etc..
