I've been visiting Sangulí for many years and it has always been a high-level campsite that is occasionally brilliant. This year, I was surprised to find bungalows called "Villa Paradise" and were spacious with huge gardens and hammocks to soak up the sun. I've always been a fan of bungalows and cabins rather than resort (provided that they're in good shape), and those at Camping Resort Sangulí truly have all the details. It's great to go with children because they have a lovely pool and plenty of activities. I'd recommend it.
Atmopshere is one of Port Aventura’s strong points and the regional themes extend into the hotels. In our case, we stayed at the Hotel Gold River in the Old West section and it was perfectly decorated according to the theme.
The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and seem right out of the Old West. You can even see the main street with its wooden saloon buildings from the window.
There’s free Wi-Fi in the lobby or you can bring your own cable to connect your computer in the rooms.
To enjoy the scenery, the colors of the vineyards, the calm and tranquility of rural life, to find the best wines from the Priorat DOQ Montsant, for trying olive oil and dishes from Priorat .. . For all this and more, the Hotel-Hostal Sport is highly recommended.
We arrived in Salou at about 8:30 at night with no reservation and found the Ona Novelty, a striking complex on the waterfront just 60m. from Playa de Levante. It has swimming pools for adults and children that are open from June 15th to September 15th from 10:00am to 9:00pm. Each building has 6 floors, with a total of 342 apartments. In the apartments, you'll find a lounge with a sofa bed, a double bedroom, a fully fitted kitchen and a bathroom, as well as a cupboard equipped with iron and ironing board and cleaning equipment. The terrace has a clothes line and a table with four chairs for eating out - and we really recommend that, as the views from the apartments (we were on the 5th floor) are spectacular. You can book in the Adyal Apartments office, which you'll find at the complex.
We chose the Hotel Jaime I because we were traveling with two small children, and we'd heard good things about the playground and pools. Once there, we found that, yes, the facilities were very good, but on the other hand, the room was missing a plug, the bathroom mirror was skew, there wasn't much space to put our things in the bathroom (just a small shelf), there were no hangers for the towels, the furniture was old, and the crib shabby. Now I must say, I complained on arrival about all of this, and a maintenance man came quickly to fix the plug and the mirror, and later changed the crib. As the stay continued, we saw other things we didn't like: the buffet food was good but monotonous, the drinks were expensive with the meals (2.75 euros for a 1.5 liter bottle of water seems absurd!), there were no little bottles of shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom, there were a few unfriendly staff members (although I should say, they were exceptions). It's a shame that, despite there being a bar by one of the pools, it wasn't open. On the plus side, the hotel is close to the beach, it has mini golf, video games etc, but I've certainly stayed in better hotels for less money in the past.
My partner and I bought a one night stay at this beautiful hotel in Tarragona as part of an offer. After dinner, at night, we went for a walk in the huge garden. We took many photos, but three magical places are the statue of the angel, the backlit tree and the ancient lake. It is a pleasure to walk in silence amidst such beauty.
We thought it was a wonderful hotel. The food quality and quantity was great. We've come with children and they love it. The evening menu is varied. I recommend it to anyone and I'm sure we'll come back. The Hotel service was very good at all times.
The hotel is not far from the beach at all. I'm writing this from the pool - it's a little small but I understand that there is little ground so close to the beach and near the centre. The food is like everywhere, some days you like more than others.
Just 800 meters from the beach and PortAventura, near several golf courses, the H10 Europa Park is a modern hotel with all the amenities for a perfect holiday. There are complete culinary services, as well as a garden and a pool with a Jacuzzi and waterfall that will delight both children and adults.
I came to this apartment for my work. It has two bedrooms and is in the centre of Salou, just above Mercadona. It has a full bathroom, a kitchen, and an open-plan living room with a 10m2 terrace. I've stayed there in the summer, when you can rent it by the week or fortnight, or you could also rent it for a full year. The building has an elevator, and is located in a great spot, close to everything: 5 minutes from the train station, as well as the beach and the harbour, shops, restaurants and cafes.
The Alborn is a great collection of studios and apartments, very close to Salou's Calle Mayor. The building has seen better days, but nevertheless, it's not a bad option for accommodation near Levante beach and the Paseo Jaime I. The apartments cover about 35m2, including an unventilated double room, a kitchen, terrace, full bathroom and living room. There's a concierge, two swimming pools, a roof terrace and a poolside snack bar.
The H10 Europa Park is next to the Plaza de Europa, 400 meters from the beach and less than 1 kilometre from PortAventura. Recently renovated, the hotel offers an adult and children's pool, outdoor Jacuzzi and a complete range of cuisine for you to enjoy a fantastic holiday on the Costa Daurada.
I was pleasantly surprised. Excellent location, newly renovated rooms, at least ours was. We went last weekend, In our group there were 3 couples with children and I recommend it without hesitating. The staff were very professional and polite. The views are truly superb, the sea right is in front of the amphitheater, Roman circus, the cathedral, great!
Do you want to enjoy a holiday with friends, with your partner, or with the family? Well this is the place for you. H10 Delfin Park has everything you need to enjoy our facilities and your stay in one of our comfortable, equipped rooms which were newly renovated in 2009.
The Mariposa are located on Calle Vendrell, almost opposite the Blue Bay. They are functional apartments, consisting of a double bedroom with wardrobe, bathroom, kitchen and dining room, plus a good-sized balcony. The building has a video surveillance system and a pool. The only downside I see, is that the bedrooms open onto the landing, shared with other apartments, so you'll have continuous noise (remember that we're in a party zone!). This is a plus if you like to party: you have all the clubs and pubs close to you, as well as the beach - a good choice for young people.
The Senator is located across the municipal park not far from the beach and all the fun activities you'll find there. In that sense, it's perfect for those who come to Salou for a little sun and fun. The apartment only had one bedroom, but it was quite spacious and had a kitchenette, a nice terrace overlooking the park, a full bathroom, living room and hall. If necessary, you can rent a small cot. The facilities include a swimming pool.
This is a perfect place to have a “'arròs de minyones,” a local dish that this place prepares very, very well. In fact, I’d say that it’s one of the best rice dishes that I’ve tried in my life. The place is also gorgeous. If you’re lucky, the founder (and father of the chef) will be there to tell you his story.
Make sure to explore the courtyard, take a dip in the swimming pool, and have a drink in the “chiringuito.” Also, make sure to see the urban cherry orchard (they let me pick some cherries!). The restaurant also has a cozy fireplace and piano.
That's the sensation I get in these types of hotels, all perfect no frills and no errors. And really, when one makes an express trip what they’re looking for is, precisely, this, that everything goes swimmingly.
As for the room itself, I must point out the bed, for me is the essence of the stay. A good bed, as in this case makes the rest of the experience much more positive. A stupid detail, but in these hotels one must be very careful of, the shower head. In my house the water comes out with really low pressure, so when I go to hotels in this class, I hope to have myself a good, really good shower. And boy did I get one...
Breakfast, finally, very correct, lots of fruit, eggs, etc... Put simply, if I return to Cambrils, I hope to return to this Tryp.
The Formentor is an apartment complex, between Calle Mayor and Paseo Jaime I. It's starting to show its age. I've stayed in three different apartments in the complex, which has a garden. They are small, scarcely 30m2, with a kitchenette, bathroom with shower, a living room, and a small bedroom, which is separated from the rest by sliding doors. The problem with these apartments is the age: they're not really modern, and the lack of air conditioning can make them feel like an oven. To their credit, they can boast a great location, near the beach, shops, party area and train station.
The Cye Cabo is a little old but still very cool, a quiet, natural area with a roof terrace, swimming pool, car wash, and, very importantly, free parking. I've stayed in two apartments here, one that was very old and run-down, and the other completely renovated and wonderful. They both had a nice terrace overlooking the sea and were very spacious, with kitchen, spacious living room, double bedroom and full bathroom. The property has a concierge who maintains the building. There are very nice beaches a few minutes away, and although you'll have to walk up and down hills, it's worth it because the water is incredibly clean, and the beaches aren't very crowded.
El Vendrell Apartments are just meters from the beach and near the leisure areas in the city. There's a large swimming pool and terrace large enough for 6 people. 12 rooms are available for guests. Services include reception service 24 hours a day, room service, car rental, currency exchange and a photocopier. No internet access available.
These apartments were originally an Aparthotel, but now belong to various agencies and individuals. They are very basic consisting of an equipped kitchen, spacious living room, a small cabin type bedroom, bathroom with shower and double bedroom with wardrobe. The 12 meter squared terraces are spacious, some have views of the street and others of the communal area, which is pretty cool. It has two swimming pools, gardens and several sports fields. The resort has a restaurant and concierge. The nearest beach is Larga, a few minutes from the building. Since atmosphere can be a little touristy and noisy in the summer (it's close to the Salou nightlife), it's not always recommended.
The Vancouver is located in the area of the "Cap de Salou", a place known for its tranquility and its beautiful beaches, buried among Mediterranean pine trees. The apartments have two bedrooms, a full bathroom and well-equipped kitchenette in the open-plan living/dining room, and a spacious terrace. There's a pool, which is open with a poolside snack bar in summer. It's well-connected, just a few metres from the bus stop. The downside is that to go to the beach you have to cross the road, and if you go with children that can be dangerous. In addition, it stands on a fairly steep slope, so it may not be the best option for old people.
The Ruiseores building is located on the main street of Salou, near the Paseo Jaime I and Llevant beach, and less than 10 minutes from the train station. In the vicinity, there are all kinds of shops and restaurants. The apartment that I stayed in had a great corner terrace. It had a double bedroom, a full bathroom, and open-plan kitchen/living room. It was practical, functional, and fully furnished. The building has a concierge and swimming pool, and the general atmosphere is perfect for quiet family holidays.
The Barcelona building overlooks 3 blocks: Reus, Barcelona and Scala Dei. The apartments have either 1 or 2 bedrooms, and are available in summer or all year round. They come with a full bathroom with bathtub, kitchen, living room, and terrace overlooking either the communal area, or the aforementioned streets. The apartments aren't bad, but many of them are in need of a bit of a face lift. There's a pool in the communal area, and the Barcelons is in the centre of Salou, near all the amenities and less than ten minutes from the train station and the beach.
