    balneario palacio de las salinas
    Resorts in
    Medina del Campo
This Hotel Balneario is situated on the outskirts of Medina del Campo, four kilometres in the direction of Velascálvaro (access from the village is signposted), in a palace built in the early twentieth century (in the style of the Magdalena Palace in Santander) in the countryside surrounded by beautiful gardens, which exude a calm and total tranquillity. Although I did not stay there, I approached to visit it on the recommendation of someone from the tourist office, being that as well as the hotel itself and the therapeutic treatments offered in the spa area, it has a super cool cafe where you can have a drink in their gardens and view temporary expositions (on this occasion there were two, devoted to modern art sculptures, titled "itinerARTciones" and "Shared Nature"). Opposite the palace is the Millennium Chapel, an authentic work of avant-garde art for its exterior alone (too bad it is closed Sunday afternoons and I could not see the museum inside). There were a fair amount of people out having a drink and viewing the garden expositions and entering the hotel, so I queued up ... it’s beautiful, decorated in full with curious antiques and last century furniture, huge chandeliers and carpets, not excessively, very tastefully. It has a three-star category but I got the feeling it had more. It has 64 rooms, restaurant cafe, pool, tennis court, reading room, and, of course, spa, whose waters have the greatest mineralization in Europe. They offer all kinds of treatments, all under medical supervision (jets, thermal baths, swimming baths, sauna, massages, parafangos ((A combination of dehydrated beauty mud, paraffin’s, and other healing ingredients))...), curative as well as beauty based as well as special programs on the weekend. Nearby there is a riding school and a golf course, so they also offer combination packages and deals in this regard. Truth is, I thought it was a great place and, above all, very tranquil. I was left with the urge to go enjoy a weekend of relaxation and total disconnection, I surely will another time.

    Peñafiel
We came to the Spa Convento Las Claras Hotel from Madrid thinking we were going to a really tranquil little village, but we were very very surprised that the hotel was exclusively dedicated to making sure your experience in the Ribera del Duero area is perfect. Of course for us it was a surprise to find a little place like this hotel that was clearly a convent. Good wine, Spa, tours, all with charm. We loved it.

    nh valladolid bálago hotel

    Valladolid
Hotel next to the fair in Valladolid, so it is advised to go if going for business. It is away from the city center, about 15 minutes walking. Service is typical of NH, ie, good, good facilities. Breakfast is also good, although not at the level of other NH. By putting 2 things that I think need improvement, the wifi is charged, incomprehensible for a business hotel that is 4 stars, except in the lobby that is free but the signal is not too good half hour just leave you free, but you take an emergency. Moreover, no gym, jacuzzi and sauna, but those are extra. Removing these two details I recommend it.

    Valladolid
The rooms are beautiful and equipped with everything you need for your comfort. Something that I particularly liked is the large numbers of outlets there, atypical from other hotels. There's a lift to the car park car. Very professional and courteous staff. In the center of Valladolid there are a variety of restaurants, places to visit without having to take the car or public transport.

The Gareus is perhaps the best option in Valladolid if location is a priority - 5 minutes from the railway station and near the centre of the city. It has charming decoration, with a library full of bookshelves in the reception. The rooms are comfortable, well-lit, and decorated with photos and paintings.

    tryp valladolid sofia parquesol hotel

    Valladolid
We made this choice in haste, so we didn't really know what to expect from the hotel, especially given its low price. But to our surprise, we got a room that had all the amenities we wanted - no frills, true, but there was a bedroom and kitchen, a small room with a second TV and a sofa bed (very useful for couples with children), and last but not least, a fantastic balcony. The hotel is located about three kilometers from the city centre, but the drive is done in just a minute. Located in a residential area, it's quieter than the centre, and you can either pay for parking or find free parking (about 10 minutes away). We strongly recommend it, either for a weekend getaway or a longer stay, as there are plenty of facilities within the rooms. The downside, and that in 99% of the hotels in Spain, is the exorbitant price of breakfast, about 12 euros per person per night. The staff are wonderful.

    hotel roma

    Valladolid
I stayed here this summer, and the truth is that I don't have any good memories of this hotel. I can't complain about the location, next to the historic centre and in a pedestrian area. The room was spacious, and the views were fine. But it was the other things that made my stay so unpleasant. There are details that I imagine must be difficult to anticipate or control - for example, the cockroaches in the hallway or spiders in the bathroom. But the receptionists were severely lacking customer service skills. The one who greeted us barely looked up from the computer to speak, without offering so much as half a smile. When you leave the hotel, you have to leave the key at reception, and when you ask for it back, the receptionists look as though you've just asked them to donate a kidney! During our stay - two nights - we saw many different receptionists, but all of them shared the same inability to smile and return a greeting. Of course, I won't be coming back here, and I recommend that you don't either, unless you don't mind being treated with contempt. Oh by the way, because it's in a pedestrian area, parking and negotiating your luggage can be a bit tricky.

Highly recommended - thanks to Novotel and the staff for a lovely stay! We celebrated my daughter's christening there and everything was great. We loved the food and service, and everyone left happy. Particular thanks to the sales manager, Jacqueline Narganes. A great place for families; they really go out of their way to make sure the children have a good time. We'll certainly be back.

If you're on the A62 near Valladolid and you need to take a break, then I strongly recommend Hostel Paco, at km 117. Here you can have a drink, a good ham sandwich or a homemade menu of the day, relax, refill your tank, etc. If you're looking for accommodation, whether overnight or for several days, you'll find yourself right at home here.

    Valladolid
The Cathedral Hotel is a 3 star hotel in the heart of Valladolid, located in a pedestrian street a few metres from the cathedral. You can drive right up there, with the hotel car park connected to the reception. The hotel room was nice, with simple but warm decor. It has more services than we expected from a 3 star hotel - television, minibar, air conditioning, and a bathroom with quality toiletries. I was pleasantly surprised by the minibar, which had lower prices than a bar; normally, they're very expensive. The only downside, and it seems that this is normal in hotels, is that the wifi connection wasn't great. Our room, in a corner of the top floor, had almost no signal. The breakfast, served at the nearby Atrium, is normal, if a little sparse, and I didn't like the orange juice at all. A hotel right in the heart of Valladolid, with prices starting at 50 € for a double room.

    Peñafiel
The Ribera del Duero Hotel is one of the recommended accommodations if you're visiting the Ribera del Duero and Penafiel area, if you decide that there's not enough for you to do in this town. In this hotel you'll be nicely taken care of, you can enjoy the local cuisine in the hotel's restaurant and try a Ribera del Duero wine in their Wine Bar overlooking the Castle. I definitely recommend that you go up to see the Wine Museum and on your way you can take advantage of snapping some pictures from some of the best views in the area. If you go between September and early October you'll get to see the bustle of the winemakers and wineries that are in full harvest mode at that time.
