The famous 5-star Hotel Conrad Punta del Este Resort & Casino is a Vegas-style casino located at Stop 4 in Playa Mansa, in front of Gorriti Island. It's cozy lobby is imposing with a beautiful ocean view. The culinary confection in Las Brisas, a California-style oceanfront restaurant, offers a spectacular buffet. In the popular Sailing lounge, you can find all kinds of delicacies, snacks, tapas, hors d'oeuvres, and a full range of drinks, as well as afternoon tea and nights of Saint Tropez for VIP dinner parties, where a gourmet la carte menu includes Italian cuisine and excellent service. For something more informal, the most convenient restaurant is the Gauchos Grill & Bar on the top floor of the hotel with a menu of grilled meats, snacks and cocktails. All places mentioned have excellent service. The exclusive spa is in Playa Mansa and there's a wooden walkway to access it. The area closest to the peninsula is called Fingers due to a sculpture group created in the first international sculpture area. On this beach you can rent tents, umbrellas and lounge chairs. There are also summer sports events such as the World Surfing Championship and volley pairs.
I stayed at the Rincón del Este in Punta del Este last month and it was such a great relaxing break full of nature and sports for my whole family! Located near the Cantegril Golf, it has two indoor heated pools, a sundeck, and tennis courts. It´s especially great for recreation too. The fully equipped apartments are very comfortable and the food at the restaurant was very good quality! You can definitely forget about everything and really relax here.
Sheraton Montevideo Hotel is situated 3 blocks from the Rambla and is a 5-star hotel. It has all the facilities that a business traveler would need to make life easier. Functional and comfortable spacious rooms, friendly service, a big variety of food and luxury in every detail, all in perfect balance. I want to return to this hotel and then get to know Montevideo ... well, in that order.
The Colon Hotel is a three star hotel that can be found conveniently on the Rambla de Piriapolis, almost in the heart of the Uruguayan resort with a magnificent view of the beach. I refer to it as a hotel with history, and began as the "Sea Castle" Don Francisco Piria, founder of Piriapolis, built in 1910. Hotel Colon maintains and enhances everyday all the romance of "Petit Hotel French" because in addition to its fortress-like medieval, Renaissance palace features with touches of art nouveau. The hotel still has its original staircase. The service is good and the location unbeatable. It's a good choice for a warm hotel with remnants of the past.
I don´t recommend making deals with these gentlemen. On my first trip to Uruguay, I searched the internet and came across this hotel option. I contacted them by mail and Mr. Pablo de los Campos responded. We agreed upon the price and I made a financial transfer via Western Union. Big mistake. Pablo called me a couple of weeks later to tell me that the apartment wasn´t available and to ask if i could come come two days later. I told him I could not as I had already purchased my tickets and booked a place in Punta del Este at the end of my stay in Montevideo. Mr. Pablo gave me no solution. So, I was without a reservation for my first few days in Montevideo. Mr. Pablo advised me to cancel the deposit made to Western Union so I did but I was not able to get the commission refunded. So, the problem with working with these people is that if they do not fulfill their commitment, I lose and if I do not keep my commitment, I lose.
An economical choice in south central Montevideo, it is 2 stars, has 18 rooms that are spotless, private bathrooms (one with Jacuzzi), hairdryer, telephone, minibar, stereo equipment, LCD cable TV, AC, and Wi- Fi in the hotel. They also have two computers totally free for use. It is special for its location, where it is easy to enjoy the traditional parade and carnival performances in the theater in Rodo Park. Situated just 3 blocks from the waterfront of Montevideo and the main avenue of Montevideo. Highly recommended for its price / comfort.

It has all the amenities of hotel of this category: safe, wi-fi, room service, cafeteria and medical and beach service. It is a very good choice for a family, especially when children are small, given the size of park for multiple activities.
The Select Hotel is a cozy little three star hotel that has been renovated and warmly decorated. It can be found at the base of the Cerro San Antonio and also very close to the beach. The hotel has 45 rooms and offers its guests an excellent breakfast buffet. It comes with all the amenities of a modern three-star and also has a large park of 3000 square meters with lounge chairs and grills where you can make a barbecue. The rooms and common areas are spacious and bright. Its indoor heated pool adds a "touch" more to all the benefits that offers.
The Arapey Termal hotel is worth a visit if you plan on relaxing and forgeting about everything. It's not only a spa hotel, in which you have heated pools and jacuzzis that will make your stay incredible a few days. This hotel is very close to Salto and hotel facilities and the service of the people working there is very good. The hotel works with an all-inclusive, and in addition to all food and drinks at night always have various activities for both large and children. Definitely worth
The hotel sits in magnificent surroundings with nature and tranquility coupled with traditional hospitality, and it offers guests a unique place to stay in Uruguay. The Espinillo Hostel is Dolores, Soriano Department, Uruguay's agricultural heartland. It is strategically situated on the Rio San Salvador and offers cozy accommodation and modern services with upgraded amenities.
Location: The hotel is 8km from the airport, 300 km from Montevideo. 140km from Colonia del Sacramento, 35 km from Mercedes, 80 km from the International Bridge Puerto Unzué - Fray Bentos.
We found this hotel in the middle of the historic quarter of Colonia de Sacramento, a hotel built by Spanish settlers and restored to new. It's patios and view from the restaurant to the River Plate are a must.
Even the unbelievers are convinced that Heaven on Earth exists when they get to Polonius Oceanian. Far from everything, even the capital Montevideo-Uruguay-, and Punta del Este, the most famous city in the country, it´s difficult, yet easy, to describe. Hard for its beauty, the rugged landscape and desolate place, andasy because there is nothing. It was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and the beach is hidden behind a forest of pine and eucalyptus, with just a few scattered houses and one inn. To blend in with the environment, the inn is called Buscavida and comfortable but very rustic. Anyway I do not think anyone in this Eden is looking for more than the cozy wooden chairs and umbrellas that the inn is on the golden dunes of sand. Here is a place where you disconnect ... The coastal walks are an adventure. You don´t even pass anyone for miles, you find debris of old shipwrecks and amazing shells. In Buscavida you can have delicious seafood and seaweed fritters. And I spend all day in a swimsuit. Just a night of music, sometimes live-sounding in the room, it brings back memories of civilization.
Punta del Este is a resort city, located on the extreme southern peninsular of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay (ROU), where the Rio de la Plata ends and the Atlantic Ocean begins. It is one of the most exclusive spas in South America and a top meeting point of the upper classes of both Uruguay and Argentina, for many years, and in recent years to international jet setters. Many Uruguayans and Argentinians have summer residences located in this city and spend their holiday season (from December to March) "in the East". It has grown and expanded dramatically, and those people that visited many years ago but haven´t returned since, will find a new city that is no longer confined to the Peninsula but extends along both coasts to places you never imagined before that would become populated. Seeing the city with all its lights at night, gives another dimension to the landscape of this exclusive resort of the Uruguayan coast.

The golf course has 20 holes, with three different circuits, it has a died
The GOLF GARDEN neighborhood park, is only 5 minutes from Punta del Este peninsula. It has direct access to Playa Brava. Uruguayans say this neighborhood is a lifestyle emblem of this coastal city. In the mid 60s a group of local and foreign people bought the land and began to form this beautiful, distinguished neighborhood. This neighborhood is bordered on one side the 18 stop of the Playa Brava and on the other side, the forest and the golf course. It slowly became full of summer homes of refined European style, stone walls and bricks, tiles and wooden. Its proximity to Golf, makes it even more valued, as many homes share it as a green park. There are lots of green .... Both lawn and flower gardens, well manicured and beautiful trees. Go to know both on foot and by car very recreational.
The Aduana y Edificio Yacht Club in Punta del Este is a classic sight to see on your route to the Puereto. The buildings are large and have a distinct appearance, since Aduana is a huge building and with old traditional look and the Yacht Club looks like a large villa, with its red tiles and white walls. At Aduana, all formalities are carried out for the vessels that arrive in Punta del Este. At the Yacht Club, in addition to meetings and rigorous assemblies, interesting nautical lectures are often organized in the summer. I had an opportunity to attend a lecture on Sinking Graaf Spee, which was extremely enlightening and personally gave me completely new information and images about this event.
The AJAX HOTEL is a 3 star hotel which is conveniently located just 100 meters away from La Mansa, and an equal distance from Conrad Casino, 2 blocks from Av Gorlero (Main Street) and bus terminal. It is simple but well equipped with all the comforts of a modern hotel. It looks rather like a large villa, which makes it seem more familiar. It has 68 rooms available, all offering a view outside. The price includes a buffet breakfast, safe, beach service and 24 hour room service. In this season, which leads to the 31/03/10 both single and double rooms (twin or double) cost US$95 per day. The triple US$ 120 per day. I stayed there during the month of December 2006, a long weekend we had traveled in order to rent an apartment for the following January, and it really went very well. Above all, even though we didn´t have a car we were one step away from everything, without being subject to the "night noise" and movement of people and cars on the Peninsula.
The Bonne Etoile is a 3 star hotel located on the peninsula, just two blocks from the "noisy nightclub" and half a block from La Mansa Beach and just 3 blocks from the port itself. The owners manage the property and it's a simple, but very nice place. The location near the beach make it highly recommendable for traveling if you don't have a car. It's just two blocks away from Gorlero, which is the Main Street. Prices around 31-3-2010: Double Standard $60 USD. - Superior Double $70 USD. The rate includes breakfast. The rooms are simple but nice and has all the services offered by most hotels. - This hotel is open till after Easter, then closed until July. Personally I stayed on it long ago, in 1978. The attention was very good and the location too.
Located on the banks of the Black River this place has all the amenities to receive people and ensure them spending leisure hours in an environment of natural beauty which is unique to this region of the Uruguayan-Argentine coast. This is the place for relaxation where tranquility and a variety of water activities, sports and culture are common. Next to the thermal areas there are large cities (Buenos Aires and Montevideo), field tourism (leisure travelers) and wild beaches with native vegetation. Sports events in the river and its South American Speedway class. Fishing, recreational catamaran rides, bird watching, boat rentals and Kayaks, etc. These are some of the activities by the Black River. Hotels and restaurants offer typical meals and especially the peaceful coexistence and security offered by the mercedaria society and the region as a whole.
At the Yerutí Hotel, George and Ana, the owners, greet you cozily. The hotel closes at the end of the season, but the cabins duplexes are open all year round and are very comfortable and pleasant. They are like Canadian cabins with steeply sloped roofs, even though obviously there's no snow here. The interior is nice, Wood, with the bed upstairs. The beach is right next door and I went every morning to see the sunrise. Although there are several negative reviews on Tripadvisor, I was treated very well when I went.
The Italiano Restaurant and Hotel is a very pretty place to spend some time in Colonia del Sacramento, in the Republic of Uruguay. The building was constructed by an Italian immigrant in 1928 and the exterior has remained as it was in its early days, and has been remodeled over time to meet the requirements of tourism. It consists of 52 bedrooms in four categories: standard, superior, special and suite. It has a nice restaurant that offers simple and good food, massage services, a beautiful pool and above all very good attention. The cost of a standard double room is US $80. - Located right at the entrance of the historic heritage part of the city. Everything inside is decorated in a simple but tasteful way with and nice colors. It is a very good option for your stay in the Colonia del Sacramento.
The Posada Manuel de lobo, is a lovely place to stay in the Colonia del Sacramento, excellently located just one block away from the historic downtown and seven blocks away from the port. It only has 8 bedrooms, tastefully decorated in the old Spanish style. Rates vary between $ s 100 to $ 150, and include breakfast and taxes.
If you want to disconnect from reality and connect with nature, this hotel offers that and more. Besides the thermal pools, you can also relax by taking a walk in the hectares of orange groves, and harvest these fruits yourself. You can also fish, observe the diverse surrounding wildlife, go biking or simply let go and relax.
Arriving to the spas of Daiman, we stayed in the Apart-Hotel Geminis for a weekend and enjoyed the Daiman THERMAL WATERS. For then continue their journey to PIRIAPOLIS point in the east. The TIP hotel has a full-service apartments of one to eight people with AC, private bathroom, cable TV, microwave, phone, internet, mini cyber, continental breakfast, maid service, broiler. It is a few meters from the first water park in South America: Acuamanía. The hotel rate for 4 people is around 1700 Uruguayan pesos. We had a very pleasant stay! The warmth and friendliness of the hotel staff is remarkable.
The Unplugged Hostel Suites Centro met all of my expectations, and it had a great location, you can walk to the center, the promenade, the Estadio Centenario, the bus terminal in Tres Cruces, etc. from it. I.e. it's in the middle of all the city's sights. The room (Private room with a double bed in my case) was very spacious and came with a private bathroom, a table, a place to prepare food, and a small terrace. It was a pretty good price compared to other hostels in the area. But, undoubtedly one of the most important factors here is the environment, which in this case meets expectations 100%, meaning that it generates good vibes with the guests, thanks to the work of a staff that always wants to talk to you and see if you're doing all right. There's also a guy, Arturo, who's in charge of having fun in the hostel. He left me with a great impression and it was a great experience to stay here. On top of all that, it has an elevator.
This hotel is ideally located near the airport, the Montevideo Shopping Centre, World Trade Centre, and the Museum of Oceanography. The service is fast and friendly, and the apartments are spacious, well decorated, and very clean. The buffet style breakfast is also fairly complete, and best of all, the hotel is within walking distance of Las Ramblas. A great option if you want to take a walk in the mornings or evenings.
This is a recently opened hotel in a spectacular place. In accordance with Eros hotels, it has it all: location, location, location. Super comfortable beds, tasty breakfast, coffee, and a lot of Brazilians, you'll feel at home. The staff is attentive but lacking some experience, perhaps for being a new hotel. Besides a good cinema, and a Macdonalds that is open 24 hours, there are several shops and restaurants. Five blocks from Punta Carretas Shopping, there are even more options!
