This is a good place to sample local dishes offering good value for money. I followed the recommendation of Joaquin Montoya and a wiseman. A must-stop for lunch and/or dinner if you're in this beautiful city for a few days.
Lovely terrace just next to a small pedestrian street near the center where you can eat well and drink good Slovenian house wine and they treat you in a very cordial manner. Impressive pepper steak. Fantastic weather. I promised to tell more Spanish people about them, and I've kept my word.
This restaurant is located within the walls of the Castle of Ljubljana. The rooms have been renovated recently, lending a touch of glamour, while the cuisine is traditional, but with an innovative twist. They have good wines to match the dishes. There are some tables outside, perfect for eating in summer. Given the location the prices are not low.
This bistro has recently opened, a pleasant novelty in the Slovenian capital. The dishes on offer are varied, ranging from the delicious hors d'oeuvres to pizzas and muffins. They also offer some very good wines. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal, overlooking the beautiful Plaza of Congress. Prices are not low, but not excessive.
On the banks of the Ljubljanica, the river flowing through the city d of Ljubljana, there are plenty of options for dining - bars, cafes and restaurants, where you can take a break in the middle of the day. This is located on the right side of the square next to the three bridges, a little less crowded than on the other side. It's ideal for those who want to have a rest after a long walk through the streets. There are beautiful views outside, with some tables under the large trees overlooking the river. At night there's live music.
This restaurant serves possibly the best nachos and burritos in town. Despite not being a Mexican restaurant, it specializes in food from Mexico, as well as other specialties. It's a good place to enjoy a meal at a good price and on Ljubljana's riverside terrace.
On a typical tourist trip to Ljubljanski Dvor it's not unusual to find a random pizzeria here or there. If you're in need of a quick meal but with a Mediterranean flavor that characterizes them. This pizzeria known for the size of their pizzas. Family pizzas calls the family need to be big to finish. Prices are very reasonable and usual see as "touristy" and they offer large amounts of leftover pizza other tourists passing by.
For me, Spajza is the best restaurant in town. The quality of food and service are nothing short of excellent. I recommend ordering the fish, which is always fresh, and is really delicious. The restaurant is also decorated in a very special way, with colourful painted walls, though not excessively bright. In summer there's an outdoor garden with simple, but comfortable seating. The rooms are decorated with antiques and wooden floors. It's in one of the most beautiful parts of Ljubljana, and here you can enjoy lunch and dinner. Wonderful!
Lolita is located in the centre of Ljubljana, right next to the river. It is popular, and with good reason: the desserts here are truly spectacular, both to the palate and the eye. The atmosphere is wonderful, too, with charming lamps, cherry wood furniture, and Bohemian details all around the room. The dominant colour is pink, which you can see on the walls, sofas, and even the cakes. The service was very good, though it seemed to me that the waiter was a little dry - but that's part of the Slovenian lifestyle, I think. As for the prices, well, I can't deny that they're a bit high, but so is the quality. The restaurant is popular with both residents of Ljubljana and tourists. Its unique decor has won international industry awards. Don't miss it!
