The octopus is indeed great. The cooked octopus in water with potatoes was delicious. Pichi is a place where you can dine on fried eggs with potatoes for €3.50. Home cooking, large portions, excellent deal.
I have been there around five or six times and it has always been spectacular. The menu for two is amazing, I always remember the first time, lots of years ago, I went there: neither my wife nor I had any idea of how to eat crabs. I was trying to eat it when suddenly ms. Carmen came, reproached me how wrong I was dealing with it and started to teach me how to do it.
We started talking, told her we came from Barcelona and she said she supported Barça, while her husband supported Real Madrid. I told her I would send a Barça flag, since there was a lot of stuff there but of Real Madrid... I finally did, and when I, later, came back to the restaurant, it was holding on the wall.
Close to Vigo's old town and the sea, there is Pedra (The Stone), a typical place in Vigo with Oysters Street, full of seafood restaurants, where the specialty and the most wanted dish is the famous oysters. They're usually ordered by the dozen and come in wooden oyster boxes to go, accompanied by an Albariño or a Ribeiro wine.

You can enjoy some delicious tapas here. The highlights are the steamed mussels. The service is excellent and very friendly. The location is a bit hidden but you can take as a reference a local bar called Vanadero and La Bodega is located in the alley on the corner of the bar.
What would you think of having a good seafood menu? This restaurant is one of my favorites in Vigo, a city that I visit several times per year...
Located in the city center and really close to the port and the pubs area, it just has a problem: sometimes it's overcrowded and they do not take reservations, so it is better to be there quite soon to get a table (around 21 - 21.30 to have dinner).
It has smoking room except on Sunday mornings; as the owner told us, that's when a lot of elderly people come so they get sick because of the smoke.
The place is quite seedy, has no decoration at all and seems more like a tavern. The secret is the food and, moreover, the prices.
The best is the special menu for two: seafood with spider crab, grilled prawns, vinaigrette mussels, clams, oysters, crabs and steamed cockles. Plus two dishes to choose; I normally take ham or some grilled fish.
As a dessert, filloas (galician dessert) with cream and chocolate syrup and a bottle of Ribeiro. All for 60 €.
Magnificient quality and excessive quantity! The service was also fast and eficient. The waiter even reminds me, he's so nice. So, no doubts: 10 points for Rías Baixas. I'll definitely come back!
Highly recommended. In summer, you can usually only reserve a table for more than 10 people but if you arrive before 10:00 you will usually get a table. The tortilla is the best in Galicia, as are the beef tenderloin steaks. The best surprise is the price. A bargain. I've not missed a visit here for 10 years.
Considered one of the best restaurants in Galicia, the spectacular Chef José González-Solla worships the traditional cuisine of the region adding modern and innovative touches. Dishes like tuna marinated in soy sauce, Vieira onion soup and lobster with seasonal mushrooms give an indication of its quality.
The name comes from the place where it is located, at the top of Mount Forest Park Cepudo, hence "do Cepudo Mirador". It's a great restaurant with a traditional type of grilling, and offers wonderful views of the Ria de Vigo, Bayonne and Cies Islands. The cuisine is prepared well, with professional and friendly service. It is spacious and cozy, with fair prices. Special night menu for two persons 30 €. On Saturday night the price rises to € 46, so reservations are recommended. Price € 22.
we went here for Christams dinner with about 11 euros. It was 25 euros for the menu. The service was exquisite, but the food was not good. I think that the chef did not do a good job choosing the menu as the meat was tough, the cod was tasteless, and the scallops I think were in some kind of white sauce ... Anyway, I have to admit that I dined there a different time and it was normal.
As a tortilla lover, I am a huge fan of this place. When traveling to Vigo for work, I often look for cheap and quality places to eat, and this is one of them. And the pizza-tortilla (I think they call it an American omelet) and pasta salad are phenomenal. In short, simple and tasty cuisine.
True, there is not much variety but this is made up by the quality of their razorfish, shrimp, crayfish, barnacles and clams with seafood. If you go with a toddler the veal is only 5 €, it is fine. If you arrive after 13:30, even on weekdays, you'll have to wait.
El Gallinero is a theme restaurant near the port of Vigo and one of my favorite places to eat in the city. The specialty as the name (it means "The Chicken Coop") implies are eggs and chicken prepared in every possible way. Chicken fricassee, chicken breast cutlets, fried chicken, and tons of other dishes. They also have a variety of salads and daily menu.
This bar has a huge space and is very centrally located. They have delicious pizzas at a good price and fast service. However, they tried to charge us for a ration of bread that we didn't ask for and didn't eat (ve eats bread with pizza?). We felt awful and it cost the waiters their well deserved tip.
This central site is one of the best in Vigo for value and price. There's only one problem, you need to make a reservation because the restaurant is not very big and it's always full. I recommend beans, steak, toast, and the skewered monkfish and prawns.
Vigo needed a cafeteria and a nice place, where you can talk with exquisite decor and a touch of distinction. It needed to be different from what we are used to seeing, with good waiters, clean, and good coffee, good beer and exquisite pastries, and normal prices. I can not stop commenting on the corner for the little ones and the corner with sofa and library. Another point to make is that there is no slot machines, this is the place to go. Congratulations to the person who thought of this great idea.
