This very new and modern hotel is one of the latest by the Barceló chain. It is on the outskirts of the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències (city of arts and sciences complex) in Valencia, with beautiful views towards the latter.
It is a four star hotel, five minutes’ walk from the Calatrava complex and the palace of the arts, but a bit away from the rest. For almost everything, you have to take either a taxi or bus, with a little luck many pass by and it’s easy to locate. In five minutes you’re at the beach, and in ten or fifteen, the historic centre. The metro is a bit far.
The hotel has 187 rooms, of which some are suites with internet, telephone and cable TV.
To eat, you have access to three restaurants, one for breakfast, one for other meals, traditional Mediterranean, and another modern one with a panoramic bar overlooking the city of the arts. There is a gym, a spa, and even chocolate therapy! Everything based on health and well-being.
Great hotel on Malvarrosa beach. Although outwardly it doesn’t look like much, once you enter you completely change your mind. Decorated with a Zen feel it also boasts a fine collection of paintings and sculptures by renowned artists. The hotel has a gym, sauna, restaurant, bar ... But best of all is the Jacuzzi on the top floor: an ideal place to relax with views to the sea or the stars.
If you’re interested, I recommend looking at the Internet deals before you book directly at the hotel.
A city hotel with 174 rooms and all the amenities and services that you'd expect from the AC Hotels chain. It has a convenient location close to many landmarks that you might want to see, such as the City of Arts and Sciences, the Oceanographic, the Palau de la Música, the Malvarrosa beach, and close to F1 Urban Circuit (Cheste), the city's motor racing circuit. In addition, the Hotel AC Valencia is located near one of the emerging areas of business and city offices. The hotel offers guests a wide variety of amenities including: fitness centre, terrace and sauna. There are many spacious rooms designed and equipped for holding all kinds of seminars, conferences, and other social events that require the service of one of the best hotels in the city.
The Hotel Catalonia Excelsior is located on Paseo del Puerto, an enclave in the city, a 30 minute walk from the beach, downtown or the universities and just a 10 minute walk from The Arts and Sciences complex.
The rooms are quite nice, although it could do with more natural light. The service is also quite good and the staffs are friendly.
The downside is the Internet, where instead of being a service for the customer it is more of a business. 17 euros a day or 88 Euros for a week are the fees offered to customers to get access to the wireless service from the hotel.
The hotel is very nice, and has a great location, next to the City of Arts and Sciences. I didn't like the main entry door, because you have to wait outside for the woman on reception to let you in. Still, the only really important issue is the walls: they are plastic! I was unlucky enough to have a snorer in the room next door, so it was impossible to sleep. We called reception to see if we could change rooms but were told they could not do anything, it was impossible (since it was 3 in the morning) ... the breakfast buffet wasn't great either. But for a very short trip or a business trip, it might be worth staying in.
The Hotel itself is already a tourist trip, as it is set in an eighteenth century building which is considered a site of cultural heritage in the city of Valencia. Its facilities are modern, as they have been rebuilt in 1998, and provides useful services for tourists, a safe, wireless internet access and a currency exchange office. From the hotel guests can easily walk to the best and most important places in the city, such as shops and most exclusive shops and the National Ceramics Museum Gonzalez Marti. It is characterized by its intimate atmosphere, as it has 63 rooms.
I had the good fortune to return to this hotel a second time, although both times have been for business, not pleasure. However, it is a pleasure to work here, what do you want me to say ... and in fact it provides quite good facilities for organizing meetings and small exhibitions.
This hotel is situated right on the beach, Malvarosa beach, with its 5 km to cover in escape between lectures and presentations ... But if you cannot leave, don’t worry! Seriously, it's a very nice place. Although the architecture seems a little pompous, it has its origin in the old Las Arenas resort, from the late nineteenth century, which stood here, and that was bombed in the Civil War, leaving only part of its colonnades standing.
Rafa Morales was responsible for its restoration, a disciple of Ferran Adria and with two Michelin stars, so it's no joke. Of course, I can attest that both the breakfast buffet and the lunches are a real treat. I like the wild berries mousse and Pop Rocks they serve at dinner, wow!
I understand that people often make quite beneficial offers to stay there, and that you can also simply go to have a beer under its colonnade (part is from the original restored spa) the beer, about 3.5 euros per head is duly served with tapas.
It is a true delight, total relaxation, friendly atmosphere, comfy garden sofas ... Of course, you can go to lunch or dinner in their restaurant. That said, it is worth visiting to at least browse ...Ah! It has a Swimming pool and spa, which I never used; I hope the next time I can ;-)
It's a tiny place, but they have some rooms with beautiful views of the sea. The large room, very bright with a huge whirlpool ... Affordable price include breakfast and VAT, which in other hotels in the area is not the case. The restaurant, with quality dishes - we tried the paella and the Miramar menu – They also have a terrace overlooking the beach and boardwalk. The hotel staffs are friendly.
Abba Acteon Hotel Valencia is out of town, a bit far from downtown if you want to walk, but very convenient if you want to visit the City of Arts and Sciences. It's in a modern, quiet neighbourhood, and the rooms are pretty large. The price isn't unfair for a 4 star hotel - 75 euros per night for a double room, without breakfast. The room had two beds, a very large bathroom with tub and shower, a thousand products that other hotels have often stopped putting out, like shampoo, shower caps, shaving cream, etc. In short it was a good experience. Breakfast is served in a buffet style below, we ate well, but we had a lunch and a dinner at the hotel and it was also disappointing. Another negative is the outrageous charge to use the internet, apart from the conference room which is free, 4.50 euros for 45 minutes ..
Acta Atarazanas is a fairly average four-star hotel located in a fairly quiet area about a 15 minutes' walk from the City of Arts & Sciences. The rooms are decorated in a minimalist style and the breakfast buffet was acceptable. The reception staff are fairly dry, but they do offer free parking.
Valenciaflats is a good choice for travelling with the family. It's right next to the City of Arts and Sciences and the kitchen is completely equipped (pots, pans, iron, etc). We had a 5% discount just for being a fan on Facebook. We'll go back.
Expo Hotel Valencia has a decent location about 15 minutes walking from the center. It's a bit far if you want to go everywhere on foot (the beach, the City of Arts and Sciences, etc.), but it's perfect if you want to, say, rent a bike to explore the city. The hotel is a bit old inside, but not bad, and the service is very good. You have to ask at reception for a hairdryer.
I stayed in the Home Youth Hostel, and it's great. First, it is very affordable (ie normal in a hostel), but the decoration is really cool. It has a youthful feel - cool, international, and friendly. I remember having dinner with friends in the common room, and we didn't have any glasses ... well, no problem, a couple of Brits offered us some. Then some other guys showed up to offer nightclub discounts. If you're young and looking for fun, a good choice.
Restored nineteenth century building, maintaining the original architectural structure in the centre of town, just behind the cathedral. This hotel has been praised by the national and international press, and has won awards. The classically-decorated rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, and there's free internet and many services that make the stay more than perfect. Recommended for lovers of good taste, history, culture and for fleeing the chains. If every city has a hotel that defines it, the AdHoc Monumental is definitely Valencia's.
We spent a few days in Valencia to visit The City of Arts and Sciences, so we stayed at the Hotel Valencia Center located just a 5 minutes' walk away. There's a bus stop right at the door that taked you to the city center, but you could also walk there in about 15 minutes. There's a Corte Ingles department store and 4-story shopping mall next to the hotel. The staff are professional and friendly. We paid €50.00 for 2 people.
I recommend Apartamentos Plaza Picasso 100%! Fantastic apartments, modern decor, clean, well equipped, helpful owners. Really, 10/10 quality and good value for your money. It's ideal for staying with family as there's a kitchen to prepare food and a huge living room with large windows. if I go back to Valencia, I'll be certain to stay there again.
Hotel Medium Valencia is a good hotel in Valencia near the City of Arts and Sciences with modern, spacious rooms and bathrooms. It also has free Wifi, and a very generous buffet breakfast. Good choice to enjoy Valencia.
The Valley Hotel is housed in a magnificant Victorian mansion, in a privileged location along the river Júcar. It opened in April 2005. Guests can enjoy superb facilities including its unique architecture, fountains, terraces and gardens. At noon there is a large and varied menu and many of the workers from nearby eat here. It has lounges with a fireplace and television and panoramic terraces with magnificent views over the river Júcar. It also offers an outdoor pool with jacuzzi and landscaped recreational areas. Ideal for nature lovers and for those who practice adventure sports, with many routes, hiking trails, caves, springs, protected areas and game reserves. The hotel offers some great seasonal deals.
